I've been interested in self help/personal development for years and in the last few years I've been into the Law of Attraction (LOA). There are a lot of books and blogs I've read that I've found useful so I've decided to create a resources page to gather all the information in one place and also so other people can see it and hopefully find it helpful. I really like discovering new information myself so if you do too then you'll like this page! :) I'll keep adding to it as I go.
Self Help/Personal Development and LOA
Post I did on my favourite self help/personal development blogs and sites: http://fallingpetalsuk.blogspot.co.uk/2013/05/top-10-self-helppersonal-development.html
My post on the Law of Attraction: http://fallingpetalsuk.blogspot.co.uk/2013/08/law-of-attraction.html
I mentioned this in my LOA post but it's worth referencing separately because it's one of my main resources. The site is run by Melody Fletcher and explains the basics of the Law of Attraction as well as featuring lots of blog posts on manifesting techniques and tips to help you work through your issues and release your limiting beliefs, so you can get what you want.
Live a Life You Love
Another one worth mentioning separately. Run by Boni Lonnsburry, author of The Map (see below under Books), it contains blog posts on manifesting and success stories. Boni works with intentions (setting an overall intention for your life and each area you want to change) and has created a process called The Map which she describes in her book and on the website. You can find it under the category "How to Create" on the site.
I'll also mention this one again because it's a great resource for achieving your goals in life and covers a range of topics, including self confidence, body image, career, life purpose, relationships and being more productive.
Good site with lots of posts about manifesting. Sarah and her Twin Flame husband Sean Patrick Simpson have a publishing company called Alska Publishing and they run courses such as 21 day Soulmate and MANIFEST. I took an earlier version of the MANIFEST course which was good.

This book is about Chinese wisdom and beliefs and discusses various spiritual and philosophical subjects such as the Tao Te Ching, Feng Shui, the I Ching, Buddhism, Confucius and meditation. You Can Heal Your Life by Louise L. Hay
This is a book I heard about for ages but didn't get round to reading until earlier this year and then I was really glad I did! It's about how the mind is connected to the body and changing your thoughts and thinking positively to heal physical and mental conditions and change your life for the better. It's the same type of thinking as the Law of Attraction but this was originally written in 1984 (it's old as me! lol), before LOA became really popular. There have been revised additions since then.
Louise lists the spiritual meanings of health conditions, such as problems with your eyes may mean there's something you don't want to see in life. (The list is taken from her other famous book Heal Your Body). I recommend you read it if you've been struggling with physical or mental issues. :)
Self-Help for your Nerves by Dr. Claire Weekes
Well known book by Australian doctor Claire Weekes with advice for recovering from anxiety, depression, breakdown etc. It was published in 1977 so the writing can sound a bit outdated but it's still a good resource.

The Real Wiches' Handbook by Kate West
More in depth book about witchcraft in general. A good guide.
The Green Wiccan Book of Shadows by Silja
Another basic guide to witchcraft and some spells to do. They are fairly easy spells which don't require a lot of ceremony, so if that sounds like your style you'll probably like this book!
The Kitchen Witch by Soraya
Similar to The Real Witches' Kitchen with recipes for the sabbats.
The Source: a Manual of Everyday Magic by Ursula James
This is a unique book written by hypnotist Professor Ursula James but a large part of it was channelled from Mother Shipton (Ursula
Sonteil), the 16th century Yorkshire healer and prophetess.. It tells you how use magic
to create the life of your dreams by using magical techniques. It's set
out in stages.
I first got this from the library a few
years ago but i didn't complete it. I got it again at the end of last
year and have got finished working though it (April 2017). I haven't
seen big changes yet but I do feel better for having done the exercises.
If you're into magic I expect you will enjoy this book and if you don't
have much experience it might inspire you to practise more in future.
The Tale of Murasaki by Liza Dalby
This is a fiction book (based on a real person) but I'm including it because it's the book that inspired the title of this blog. :) It's about Murasaki Shikibu, the author of the legendary Japanese story The Tale of Genji. Murasaki is inspired by the beauty of life and watching the seasons change, e.g. the petals falling as spring ends. I've had this for years, since my late teens, I think. I'm re-reading it at the moment.
It's actually 4 years this month (Feb 2017) since I started Falling Petals! You can read the first post here: http://fallingpetalsuk.blogspot.co.uk/2013/02/welcome-to-falling-petals.html
The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin
I first discovered Gretchen's blog of the same name (now www.gretchenrubin.com) in 2008 and then bought the book when it came out. Its about the year she spent trying to become happier by doing things such as decluttering, focusing on her relationships, exercising and using mindfulness techniques.
This is a good book for anyone who wants to be happier. I'm currently re-reading it (April 2017).
Happier at Home by Gretchen Rubin
In Gretchen's second book she focuses specifically on things you can do to be happier in your home life. It runs for a school year, September to May (American school year) and focuses on areas such as possessions, marriage, family and neighbourhood. If you enjoyed The Happiness Project you'll probably like this too. :) I just read this (October/November 2017).
